The chance for qualification will be available when Racing Metro host Cardiff Rugby in Saturday’s Champions Cup clash. Both clubs are on the wrong end of the pool with Cardiff at the foot of the table while Racing are a point and a place above them. Qualification is out of both club’s hands but a win coupled with favorable results elsewhere could seal progression for the winner. In the United Rugby Championship, the visitors are 12th with three wins, one draw and five defeats. The Welshmen need to shore up their defense which has conceded the highest number of points in the Champions Cup this season (145). The positive news coming from the Cardiff camp is that Cam Winnett and Alex Mann have penned new long term contracts with the club.
