Could this be the season when PSG finally win the Champions League? It’s a question that keeps getting asked isn’t it! Last season saw them get close though, losing 1-0 to Bayern Munich in their first final. The season before that ended in the last sixteen with defeat by Manchester United, so they will be out for revenge on that one. Since that loss, PSG have played four Champions League home games, winning them all without conceding a goal. That list includes wins over both Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. The new season didn't get off to a good start at all with losses to Lens and Marseille, a hangover from the Champions League final defeat. It's all gone well since then though with five straight wins with 16 goals scored and just one conceded. The last two have seen ten put past their opponents with Mbappe scoring three and Neymar two. Not great news for any opponents.
Manchester United reached the semi-finals of the Europa League last season, losing to eventual winners Sevilla. The new season hasn’t started well for them at all. A team that has conceded nine goals in games against Crystal Palace and Tottenham must be fearful of a trip to an in-form PSG. There was a return to form on Saturday as they beat Newcastle United 4-1 away after trailing in the first half. They did have that great win in Paris two seasons ago, though they did lose at home to the French side. A repeat of that win in Paris looks unlikely, go for a home win here.

Manchester United would have probably preferred not to start this group with a trip to PSG. Then again, it's an opportunity to get this game out of the way. It's not an easy group at all for United with RB Leipzig and Istanbul Basaksehir also to face in the coming weeks. PSG lost their first two league games of the season but have won five in a row since then and their forwards are firing. Manchester United have struggled for form this season with bad losses to both Crystal Palace and Tottenham. They won at Newcastle on Saturday evening, but PSG is a bit of a step up from that. Go for a home win here.
