Paris Saint-Germain have a deficit to overturn when they host Borussia Dortmund in the second leg of their last 16 Champions League tie on Wednesday. The Germans make their way to France with a 2-1 advantage from the first leg. A double from the prolific Erling Haaland either side of a Neymar equaliser was enough to put Dortmund in the driving seat of this quarter-final dash. With 12 goals in his ten matches since arriving in Dortmund, it's safe to say that Haaland has hit the ground running at his new club. Having a striker as prolific as the 19-year-old has worked wonders for Dortmund, who have won eight of their last ten matches. Their most recent victory showed that they can handle tough away assignments, a 2-1 triumph in Gladbach. This ability to win in difficult venues will serve them well in Paris as PSG have only lost one home match this season, a shock defeat to Reims back in September.
PSG have not played a home match as tough as this promises to be this season. Their home record in the knockout stages in recent years doesn't boost confidence. Since battering Barcelona 4-0 in 2016/17 (the Remontada coming after), PSG have suffered cheap defeats to Real Madrid in 2018 and (a particularly bad one) to Manchester United last season at the Parc des Princes. With Neymar and Mbappe upfront, they always have a chance of winning and often winning big. However, when the going gets tough, PSG find it tough to get going. This is what Thomas Tuchel was brought in to help the squad do: Overcome a psychological barrier. They come into this game after a rest at the weekend due to the postponement of their match with Strasbourg. We imagine that they would have played a weakened team and saved their stars for this game. Even so, we don't see this confident Dortmund side losing to PSG.

Our PSG vs Borussia Dortmund Prediction
Year after year, PSG compete in the Champions League with a team that is worthy of winning the competition. Getting through the group stage is a breeze, but the knockout stage causes a mental block. This could be the season in which they shed their 'chokers' tag and overturn a deficit against a top team. However, the first-leg showing makes us think otherwise. Back Dortmund double chance.
