An Eastern Conference clash in the NBA sees the title-contending Philadelphia 76ers hosting the young Orlando Magic at the Wells Fargo Center on Wednesday. This is the second consecutive meeting between these two teams after they just faced off on Monday. The Magic ran out 119-109 winners as the road team in that game, snapping the Sixers seven game winning streak and picking up their first win in their last three outings. Philadelphia will surely be out for revenge here after surprisingly losing as heavy home favorites the last time out. The loss also was also the first time in 10 games that Philadelphia failed to beat Orlando with their last loss to the Magic coming in 2019 before Monday’s game. The 76ers have been having a strong season overall and are sitting third in the East with 32 wins and 17 losses, putting them just three games behind the first-place Boston Celtics. 

The Orlando Magic should take a great deal of confidence from beating Philadelphia the last time out. Orlando has a young team but it is also one that has a lot of raw talent. The Magic are 20-31 on the season, putting them 13th in the East and five games behind the eighth-place Atlanta Hawks. Despite being 11 games below .500, the Magic have already almost eclipsed their total wins in the 2021/22 season which saw them win 22 games. The squad is clearly making improvements and continually getting better as each game passes. The Magic finished the previous season with a -8.0 average points differential and have seen that number improve to -3.3 in the current campaign. Orlando has also shown that they can hang in with tough teams, losing by five against Miami, three to the Nuggets and four to the Jazz – all away games.
