Petra Martić vs Katerina Siniakova Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Linz

Eighth seed Petra Martic faces unseeded Katerina Siniakova in round one of the Upper Austria Linz Open. The winner of this match will face either wild card Sinja Kraus or unseeded Clara Burel in round two of this hard court tournament. Martic is 48th in the live rankings but had a disappointing Australian Open losing in the first round to Ajla Tomljanovic. 2024 had got off to a good start with a run to the last eight of the ASB Classic to the fourth seeded Emma Navarro. The 33-year-old hadn't reached a quarter final since last June but that was at Eastbourne on grass. Her last deep run in a hard court tournament was actually in Linz last year when being beaten in the final by Anastasia Potapova after getting a big win over Maria Sakkari earlier in the tournament. 

To reach the second round this year, Martic has to beat Katernia Siniakova for the first time. There have been two previous meetings with Siniakova winning both  The only match played on a hard court was in Dubai five years ago with Siniakova winning in straight sets. In the live rankings, the Czech is 49th which is 18 places below her career high achieved in 2018. This year began with her being beaten in the first round in Brisbane by Sloane Stephens. It went better in Adelaide with a run to round two and on the way Karolina Pliskova was beaten. Siniakova lost in round two of the Australian Open being beaten in three sets by Viktorija Gublic. This looks like being a tightly contested match and we go for three sets to be played.
