Unseeded Lorenzo Sonego makes his comeback from injury on Tuesday. He takes on qualifier Pedro Martinez in round one of the outdoor clay court Barcelona Open. Can Sonego make a winning return? Read our match prediction below.

Either fifth seed Andrey Rublev or unseeded Mariano Navone will be faced by the winner in round two.

A wrist injury has kept Lorenzo Sonego off court since January. The Italian has only played four matches in two tournaments this year, winning two and losing the others. He makes his return in Barcelona where he reached round three four years ago in his only other appearance.

Sonego was not in good form on clay last year. He won only one of his six matches and has lost the last three. 

He is 66th in the rankings, 64 places above Martinez in the live rankings. However, it was the Spaniard who won their only previous meeting. That was on clay in Monte Carlo last year with Martinez winning in three sets.

Martinez has won seven of his 13 clay court matches this year and was a quarter-finalist in Buenos Aires. He's also reached another Challenger Tour quarter-final. In the qualifying rounds, Martinez beat recent clay court finalist Marco Trungelliti.
