Newly promoted Parma begin their life back in Serie A with a match against ambitious Fiorentina. This match will be played at the Stadio Ennio Tardini on Saturday, with our prediction that both teams are likely to find some goals.
Parma are back in Serie A for the first time since 2021, and that too in style, after winning the Serie B title last season. They won it with a three-point lead over the second-placed Como. Their tally of 76 was the most the club has achieved in a single season in Serie B and was enough to bring them back to Serie A.
Their competitive season has already started, but a 1-0 loss against Palermo in the Coppa Italia competition has only underlined the challenge that awaits them. Fiorentina have had successive forays to the finals of the Europa Conference League, but with no silverware yet, question marks remain.
Raffaele Palladino is now in charge of the club and will keep an eye on the upcoming Conference League playoff. There could be some interesting glances at the visiting dugout, as former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has joined the club in the transfer window.
Both teams will look to start the season on a high, but familiar problems continue to weigh them down. That could pave the way for an interesting match full of action.
