This was the world number six’s fourth win on grass and the 19th of a season that has been disrupted by injury. Jabeur claimed her first victory against Kvitova last season in Sydney and will hope to rise to the occasion again.

Petra Kvitova defeated Jabeur in the first round at Wimbledon in 2019 and since then has won four of their five battles. The Czech number one has won all eight matches she has played on grass. She arrived at the All England Club after winning the German Open which was her second title of the year.
