Nuno Borges vs Marin Cilic Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Libema Open

Marin Cilic is still going strong at the age of 37. He takes on fellow unseeded player Nuno Borges in the second round of the Libema Open.  Both of their previous meetings have seen long opening sets played and our prediction here is more than 9.5 games in the first set.

Nuno Borges is attempting to reach the last eight here for the second successive year. The Portuguese player hasn't had a great year so far in 2026 and had a 4-4 record on grass last year. He did get to round three at Wimbledon though.

Round one saw him defeat Terence Atmane in straight sets, winning both 6-4.

These two players have shared their two previous meetings. This is their first match on grass and both previous matches saw more than 9.5 games in the first set.

Marin Cilic had a tough battle in the first round but overcame the seventh seed Denis Shapovalov in three sets. Each of those sets saw at least ten games played in them. The former Wimbledon finalist won nine of his 11 grass court matches this year with the fourth round reached at Wimbledon. He also won a Challenger Tour title.

Cilic is 46th in the live rankings, seven places above Borges.
