Novak Djokovic vs Stefanos Tsitsipas Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Italian Open
by Steve Ashfield | in Tennis Predictions
Novak Djokovic attempts to win the Rome Masters for the sixth time in his career. This is his 12th final in this tournament but he faces a tough match against fourth seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas. Djokovic has already achieved his first target this week. He's confirmed his number one world ranking ahead of the French Open. Now he has the second target of winning his first title this year. He's had some surprise defeats in recent weeks but seems to be in much better form this week. Djokovic has reached the final without dropping a set and has had good wins over Casper Ruud and Felix Auger-Aliassime in his last two matches. He's won six of his eight previous matches against Tsitsipas. He's won all four of his matches against the Greek that were played on clay, including last year's French Open final and the quarter final in Rome, also in 2021.
Stefanos Tsitsipas will hope for his first win over Djokovic since 2019. He has already won one Masters event on clay this year with success in Monte Carlo for the second year in a row. This is his first Rome Masters final and a win in this final will see him go top in the ATP Race for points earned this year. This week has again seen him be a player that's hard to beat on this surface. He's had wins over Grigor Dimitrov and Karen Khachanov (both in three sets), Jannik Sinner and then in the last four, coming from behind to beat Alexander Zverev. He's in good form but Djokovic looks to be playing better and he can get the win here.
