English Premiership leaders Northampton Saints switch their attention to cup rugby this weekend. They host Munster in the last 16 of the European Rugby Champions Cup. Whoever wins this match will have a home tie in the quarterfinals against either Bulls or Lyon. Northampton Saints are the third seed in the knockout stages after winning Pool C. They achieved that by winning all four of their matches. Wins came against Glasgow Warriors, RC Toulon, Aviron Bayonne and their opponents in this match, Munster. The Saints beat Munster away from home 26-23 and will be confident of securing a home win against the Irish side on Sunday. Northampton are five points clear at the top of the English Premiership and have won 11 of their last 12 matches. A win on Sunday will make it nine successive home victories.

Munster are seeded 14th after their fourth place finish in Pool C. They won one, drew one and lost two of their four pool fixtures. The only win came at Toulon with both Northampton and Exeter Chiefs beating them. Their other match was a 17-17 home draw with Bayonne. Munster are fourth in the United Rugby Championship with eight wins and four defeats. Only two of their six away league games have been won.
