Nicolás Jarry vs Lukas Klein Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Chengdu Open

Nicolas Jarry will be fancying his chances of going deep in the Chengdu Open. The third seed takes on unseeded Lukas Klein in round two.

The winner of this hard court match will face an unseeded player in the quarter-finals of this ATP 250 tournament. Jarry is ranked 28th in the latest list and five places lower than that in the ATP Live Race. The Chilean received a bye in the first round and will hope for some improved form this week.

His last seven matches have all ended in defeat, the last three of those being on hard courts. The first of those losses was in the final of the clay court Masters event held in Rome.

He has had some good results on hard courts this year. Jarry made it to the last eight in both Adelaide and Miami. The latter saw him get wins over Casper Ruud and Jack Draper.

Lukas Klein is the world number 127 but was a career-high 109th last month. The Slovakian beat fellow unseeded player Adam Walton in the first round of this tournament. He won that in straight sets but needed a tie-break in the first.

Klein has also been struggling for form. That win over Walton ended a run of four successive losses, all on hard courts. Last week saw him lose both of his matches in the Davis Cup.

It’s been a disappointing year for him and he’s yet to win two matches in the main draw of an ATP hard court tournament this year.

We tip Jarry to get the win here, but low stakes are suggested.
