Newcastle Red Bulls are ninth in PREM Rugby and have lost all three of their league games this season. This Friday will see them host local rivals Sale Sharks and their opponents are seventh in the table. The Red Bulls continue to concede far too many points and our prediction is Sale Sharks wins on a -5.5 handicap.
The home side finished bottom of PREM Rugby last season with just two wins and 16 defeats. The new season has started off with three successive league losses for the Red Bulls. Only four points have been earned from their first three games, five fewer than Sale Sharks.
The season got underway with a 59-26 loss at Northampton Saints. The following two fixtures have both been lost at home to Leicester Tigers and away at Exeter Chiefs. The combined points margin in defeat was only 11 points. However, last weekend they lost 47-14 at Scarlets in the Challenge Cup.
Sale Sharks have won two of their opening three PREM Rugby fixtures. Their opening match at Bristol was lost, but they've followed that up with league wins at Saracens and at home to Harlequins. They also lost in Europe last weekend. Sale have won three of their last four games against Newcastle.
