Besiktas Istanbul - Crystal Palace: Form Analysis
Besiktas are fifth in the Turkish Super Lig, four points behind the leaders Galatasaray. The Black Eagles struggle on their travels in their domestic league, but it's been a different story on home soil. They had to get through three qualifying rounds to reach this league phase. After beating Marseille 4-1 at home in their opening league phase game, they then won 3-2 away at Hoffenheim.
Palace are struggling for form.
Crystal Palace are in a bit of a crisis at present. Last week saw them lose 3-2 at Lyon in their second league phase fixture. Then at the weekend, they went to Brighton and Hove Albion and were beaten 5-0. Coach Pierre Sage may well find his stay at Selhurst Park to be a short one if results don't improve soon.
The Eagles had previously beaten Lech Poznan 4-0 at home in their opening league phase fixture. 14 goals have been scored in their last three games. They are 14th in the English Premier, but have conceded 17 goals in their seven games, the worst defensive record in the league.

Besiktas will attempt on Thursday to make it three straight wins in the league phase. They will be without Milot Rashica who is not part of their Europa League squad and has a hamstring injury anyway. Also missing will be Orkun Kokcu who has a foot injury. He's not expected back until November.
Dusan Vlahovic was signed by the Turkish club in the summer and has already been a big hit for his new club. He's scored six Super Lig goals this season, but has only played in one of their league phase games, but has recovered from the illness that prevented him playing in Hoffenheim.
They have scored seven goals in their first two games with five different scorers. Murillo and Oh Hyeon-gyu have both scored twice in the league phase.
Palace are conceding far too many goals.
Crystal Palace have conceded eight goals in their last two games. A 3-2 loss at Lyon was bad enough, but then they lost to arch-rivals Brighton and Hove Albion 5-0. They are shipping far too many goals with 17 in the Premier League alone. Sage has to sort that out or he'll be on his way out of Selhurst Park.
The Eagles have fitness doubts over Tomiyasu, Chilwell and Henderson. Axel Disasi is available again after being suspended for domestic fixtures. They will hope for more goals from Yeremy Pino who has three in recent gaes, all of which saw his team lose the match. Mateta is still on the absentee list.
