Meanwhile, Italy’s T20 World Cup debut ended in disappointment, as they proved no match for Scotland, losing by 73 runs chasing down 207/4 at Eden Gardens last week.
Still, there were a few positives for Gli Azzurri to take from that match, particularly the performance of Benjamin Manenti, who scored a stunning half-century batting at number five.
Italy also beat Canada and the UAE during warm-ups and have split their last 10 T20s, five wins and five defeats. This is the first time these sides will meet in a competitive fixture.
