Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will look to bounce back from a defeat in Guwahati when they travel to their bogey team Mumbai Indians on Sunday in the 2026 campaign. This match #20 at the Wankhede Stadium between the third-placed RCB and the eighth-placed MU comes with our prediction of an away win.
After 16 matches and before Saturday’s games, MI are eighth with two points (W1, L2), and only two teams have fewer points than them. RCB’s four points (W2, L1) see them slot four points behind leaders Rajasthan Royals.
Mumbai were beaten by 27 runs by Rajasthan Royals last Tuesday in a rain-curtailed game that was limited to 11 overs each. MI had no chance after Rajasthan blasted their way to 150 when batting first.
Playing at home could bring the best out of the Mumbai Indians, as they have five wins out of their last six home matches.
The Royal Challengers were thumped by six wickets on Friday by Rajasthan Royals. A total of 201 for 8 looked competitive from RCB, with Rajat Patidar (63 from 40 balls) leading the charge. That wasn’t to be, as Vaibhav Sooryavanshi flattened RCB bowlers.
Captain Patidar (142 runs) remains the best batter, while Devdutt Padikkal has two 50+ scores in three matches. Among the bowlers, three regulars have four wickets or more.

Our Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru Prediction
Mumbai Indians started their season with a win, but two consecutive defeats have got them back to square one. RCB, on the other hand, are a team on missions. The defending champions started this campaign like they finished the last, winning two games, although falling short against Rajasthan's rampage. RCB have struggled to defeat Mumbai at this venue, and the Mumbai Indians have been their bogey team.
We are going against the trend, and our Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru prediction is Royal Challengers Bengaluru wins.
