It's been a struggle for Middlesbrough in the past year but they begin this game in eighth place in the Championship. They host 20th placedNottingham Forest who have made a slow start to the season and already changed their manager. Middlesbrough finished 17th in the Championship last season and appointed Neil Warnock as their new boss. He didn't get off to a good start with just two points earned from their first three league games. It was a tough list of games though with Watford (their only league defeat this season) and Bournemouth having to be faced. Form has improved since then and they come into this game unbeaten in seven matches. The goals aren't exactly flowing though with only eight scored in as many games but just five conceded. Seven of their eight league games this season have had under 2.5 goals scored in them, including all of the last four. Home form has seen Boro unbeaten in their last four league fixtures, that includes a goalless draw with current leaders Reading. 

Nottingham Forest have only won one league game this season. That was an away win at Barnsley soon after Chris Hughton took over as manager. They have just five points and are only out of the relegation zone on goal diference. Since Hughton arrived form has picked up a bit and their last three games have all ended in a 1-1 draw and they are now unbeaten in four league games. Away form has seen Forest earn four points from four games. Just two goals scored but only four conceded. They have only one win in their last ten away league fixtures, though six have been drawn. The last nine have all seen under 2.5 goals scored.
