Mexico will look to continue their recent winning form when they host Switzerland in an international friendly on Saturday. This match between the 17th-ranked El Tri and the 20th-ranked Red Devils could end up being an entertaining game. To be played at the Rice-Eccles Stadium in the neutral venue of Utah, this match comes with our prediction of over 2.5 goals.
A 2-1 win over Panama in their last match gave Mexico the title in the CONCACAF Nations League. That was their first title in that competition and was highlighted by four wins from their last five matches, with only a friendly match loss to River Plate blotting their record.
With ten goals in those five matches, Mexico are likely to back their aggressive game and find more action here. They will need to be at the best of their form, having lost both previous matches against Switzerland, although they last played in 1994.
Switzerland defeated Luxembourg 3-1 in their latest friendly in March, but that was their first win for a long time. The Swiss had five defeats and three draws in their eight previous matches.
This poor form has also seen them get relegated from League A of the UEFA Nations League, although goals have been consistently scored.
