The defending champions are 3-2 down to the Suns in this best-of-seven first round match in the Western Conference. Whoever wins this tie has to take on either Denver Nuggets or the Portland Trail Blazers in the semi-finals. The Lakers knew they'd be up against it in this first round game. The Suns won nine games more than they did in the regular season, where the Lakers finished third behind them in the Pacific Division. After narrowly beating the Golden State Warriors in the play-in match, the Lakers lost the first match against the Suns but leveled the series and then went 2-1 up. Despite having home advantage, the Lakers lost the fourth game with the third quarter being lost by 12 points. Back in Phoenix, the Suns had a convincing win over the Lakers in match five, winning by 30 points with all that lead coming in the first half. Now the Lakers have to beat the Suns to stay in the play-offs. The Lakers will again be without the influential Anthony Davis while Booker and Payne are in top form for the Suns, go for them to get the win and knock the Lakers out.
