Manchester City, an English Premier League team, begins their 2025 FIFA Club World Cup campaign in Group G against Wydad Casablanca of Morocco. This is match #13 of the tournament and will be played at the Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Wednesday. Our prediction is that the Blues are likely to win by a -2 handicap over the Red Castle.
Both teams finished third in their respective domestic campaigns, but the pressure is on City and their manager Pep Guardiola to deliver. It was his first trophyless season since the 2016/17 campaign, and he responded with some big-name purchases in the off-season. Manchester City - WAC Casablanca: Form Analysis
Manchester City ended their domestic campaign with back-to-back wins, a 2-0 victory over Fulham and a 3-1 win over Bournemouth. These helped tide over the cracks as City ended the Premier League season in third place.
They had seven wins in their last nine matches, drawing and losing one game each. Coach Pep Guardiola will hope to revive his magic in the Club World Cup competition to start preparing for next season.
Guardiola won the Club World Cup on four occasions, the joint-most by any manager.
Wydad had a similarly poor domestic campaign, finishing third in the league. They did end the competitive season with three wins in a row, but recent performances in the pre-tournament friends have been saying.

The city's summer of purchases has already begun with the arrivals of Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri, and Tijjani Reijnders joining the club along with the reserve 'keeper Marcus Bettinelli. The first three are more likely to get a starting role in this match and star for their new side.
That said, predicting Guardiola's starting XIs is a risky business! He lines up his teams in a 4-2-3-1 formation, and it could be Omar Marmoush in the middle and Cherki on the right. Nico Gonzalez could team up with Reijnders in the defensive midfield.
Erling Haaland has three goals in his last three games for club and country.
Looking to stop him would be a difficult task for Wydad, who have recently signed Nordin Amrabat, brother of Sofyan Amrabat, who played on loan at Manchester United for a season.
The Moroccans tried to lure Cristiano Ronaldo but were unable to do so. That would leave them dependent on Mohamed Rayhi for goals, who scored 11 league goals last season, featuring in their 4-5-1 formation.
