Two of their most prolific men in attack, Phil Foden and Erling Haaland, were on the score sheet once again, with Haaland bagging a brace.

One of the big misses over the weekend was Manchester City’s Jeremy Doku. News of the Belgian’s absence rocked the City faithful ahead of the Crystal Palace match. He is out with a leg injury and remains highly unlikely to return in time for this midweek encounter.
While Doku is out injured, City will not have a lot of issues to deal with in their attack, as Phil Foden is back in top form. The England international has had seven goal contributions in the last five matches and is combining well with fellow attackers.
In that attack, the main man remains Erling Haaland. The Norwegian added two goals to his tally over the weekend, and while a rotation is expected here, Haaland should still be leading the attack.
Haaland and Foden have scored nine times in City’s last five meetings with Brentford.
Brentford have a very difficult trip and might consider a reorganization of their backline to be able to cope with City’s robust attack. Keith Andrews is expected to revert to a 3-5-2 system, sacrificing top scorer Igor Thiago.
Skipper Mathias Jensen should get the nod to marshal a five-man midfield that’s expected to deal with City’s attacking threat.
