Magda Linette vs Elisabetta Cocciaretto Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Mutua Madrid Open

World number 48 Magda Linette and world number 54 Elisabetta Cocciaretto are set to face off at the Madrid Open. They will battle in the first round with the winner playing second seed Aryna Sabalenka for a place in the third round. Magda Linette has struck form as the season has switched to clay. She has won six of the eight matches she has played on the surface and is coming off a run to the final in Rouen. Though still on a losing record after a turbulent first quarter of the year, Linette has won nine of 20 matches. The Pole is playing in the main draw in Madrid for the third time. Last year, she produced her best result by making it to the third round. Linette arrives in Madrid having dropped two places to 50th in the live ranking.

Elisabetta Cocciaretto has also struggled with her form this year but unlike Linette, has won more than she has lost. She has compiled a 14-11 record and has won four of seven matches on clay. The Italian has however hit a snug in recent outings and has managed just one win in four matches. She also participated in Rouen where she lost in the first round. Cocciaretto defeated Linette two seasons ago to lift the Tampico Challenger on an outdoor hard court. It remains their only encounter, and she will hope for another similar outcome. The 23-year-old has won one challenger title this season but hasn’t advanced past the second round at a tour event. She made her Madrid debut last season and was eliminated in the second round.
