Lyon are second in Pool A of the European Rugby Champions Cup and host Connacht who are in bottom place. The French side are three points behind fellow French side Bordeaux after the first two games of the pool. Under the rules of the competition, the two French teams can't face each other in this pool. Lyon began their European Rugby Champions Cup campaign with a narrow loss away to English Premiership side Bristol. They lost the first half by 11 points but despite a second half comeback lost 36-34. It went better in their second pool fixture as they beat Bulls 29-28 at home, again needing a strong second half performance after trailing by six points at half-time. After this game against Connacht they travel to Saracens but a win this weekend will take them into the knockout stages.

Connacht have only one point after their first two games in this group. That's left them four points behind Saracens and Bristol as they bid to get into the last 16. The Irish side have conceded 96 points in their first two games and face a tough battle this weekend to stay in contention for even a fifth placed finish that would take them into the Challenge Cup.  Their opening fixture saw them lose 41-5 at home to Bordeaux. Another heavy defeat followed as they lost 55-35 away at Saracens conceding eight tries. We tip Lyon to win this game and do so defying a -9 point handicap.
