Leinster are third in Pool C of the 2023/24 European Rugby Champions Cup and host Sale Sharks who are in second. The home side began the pool with a 16-9 win at La Rochelle despite going behind to a penalty conceded in the first minute. Leinster have an excellent record in this competition and won it in 2018. The past two seasons have seen them be losing finalists and they will hope to go one step further this season. They are currently top of the United Rugby Championship with six of their seven games ending in victory. Since an away loss to Glasgow Warriors in October, Leinster have won seven successive matches. Home form in the United Rugby Championship has seen them win all four of their games with only 61 points conceded.

Sale Sharks also made a winning start to the European Champions Rugby Cup with a 28-5 home win over Stade Francais. That was a good win but only three tries were scored so the Sharks missed out on a bonus point and start this second set of pool games a point behind fellow English Premiership side Leicester Tigers. Sale are currently top of the English Premiership having won six of their eight fixtures. Both of their league losses have come on the road and they recently were beaten 36-3 at Harlequins. Earlier in the season, the Sharks were beaten 43-0 at Exeter Chiefs. We back Leinster to get a home win on a -25.5 points handicap.
