Only Stade Toulousain have won the European Rugby Champions Cup more times than Leinster. The Irish club are attempting to win a fifth title this year and are home to Edinburgh in the quarter-finals of this year's competition. Read our match prediction below.
Leinster last won the European Rugby Champions Cup in 2018 but were the losing finalists for three successive years between 2022 and 2024. They were in excellent form in the pool stages and we'll tell you more about their impressive run in the form section of this preview.
Edinburgh are well below Leinster in the United Rugby Championship and are not at their best on the road. They will need to find plenty of improvement if they are to cause a shock and make it to the last eight of this competition. Edinburgh are the 14th seeds in the knockout stages, 11 places below their opponents. Who will win this match and play either Harlequins or Sale Sharks at home in the quarter-finals?

Leinster - Edinburgh Rugby: Form Analysis
Leinster won all four of their pool matches and the only other sides to achieve that were defending champions Bordeaux Begles and Glasgow Warriors. The Irish club finished three points clear of Harlequins, who they could face in the quarter-finals.
They won both of their home games with wins over Harlequins and Stade Rochelais. On the road, victories were achieved at Leicester and Aviron Bayonnais. Leinster are fourth in the United Rugby Championship this season with nine wins and five defeats.
Leinster are strong on home soil.
Leinster have won six of their seven home league games. The last five have all been won and that includes a 28-20 win over Edinburgh at the end of January. Their most recent game saw them beat Scarlets at home.
Edinburgh could only finish fourth in their pool with two wins but a couple of defeats. They finished four points adrift of the top two and therefore were condemned to playing away in the last 16.
Both of their away games in the pool stage were lost at Castres and Bath. They conceded 96 points in those defeats, scoring just ten points all in Bath. Edinburgh are only 13th in the URC with four wins and ten losses and have lost seven of their eight away league games.

Leinster & Edinburgh Rugby Squad Analysis
Leinster bid to make it three home wins out of three in this season's European Rugby Champions Cup. Wins have already been achieved against Harlequins and Stade Rochelais, though the latter was only won by a single point.
They will be playing Harry Byrne at fly half for this last 16 match against Edinburgh. Not included in the squad has been Ireland's number 10 Sam Prendergast. They will be welcoming back Ryan Baird for this math. He hasn't played since October when he suffered a broken leg.
Edinburgh need to improve their away record.
Edinburgh have been struggling on the road this year. Seven of their eight league games have ended in defeat. They also lost both of their away games in the pool stages. Just ten points were scored in two games and they failed to even get a point at Castres Olympique.
They have D'arcy Rae back for this game. He has recovered from his calf injury and will play at prop instead of Paul Hill. Also back after being out due to a concussion is Ben Muncaster and he'll be playing at number eight replacing club captain Magnus Bradley.
