Reigning champions Bordeaux Begles bid to extend France's great run in the European Rugby Champions Cup. They take on Leinster in the 2025-26 final in Bilbao aiming to win the trophy for France for the sixth consecutive year and our prediction is their outstanding high-scoring European form will see them achieve that.
Both of these clubs have reached this ERCC final with a 100 percent record in this season's competition. Bordeaux Begles beat Northampton Saints last season to win this trophy for the first time in their history. If they can win this final, L'Union will become the first side since Stade Rochelais in 2021/22 to retain the cup.
Leinster are playing in their ninth ERCC final but have only won four of them. It is eight years since they were last crowned champions of Europe The Irish club are playing in their second final in three years but face a tough task to dethrone the current European champions.

Leinster - Union Bordeaux Begles: Form Analysis
Bordeaux Begles will be in no mood to release their stranglehold on the European Rugby Champions Cup. The 2024-25 winners have won each of the last 15 matches that they have played in this competition. This season began with them winning Pool 4 , scoring 173 points in their quartet of victories.
Those four wins included beating Northampton Saints at home in a repeat of last season's final. L'Union are the top seeds in the knockout stages and have defeated Leicester Tigers, Stade Toulousain and Bath (all at home) to reach their second successive final.
L'UBB are fifth in Top 14 and have won their last two league fixtures. Each of their last three away games has been won.
Another final for Leinster.
Leinster are hoping to win the ERCC for the fifth time. Their last win came in 2018 and that final was also played in Bilbao. Like their opponents they too are unbeaten in this season's competition. The Irish club finished top of Pool 3 with all four of their games being won.
The third seeds then recorded home wins over Edinburgh Sale Sharks and RC Toulon to reach this Bilbao showpiece. They finished second in the main season of the United Rugby Championship but have been beaten in three of their last four away games.

Leinster & Union Bordeaux Begles Squad Analysis
Leinster must try to find a way to deal with the star-studded Bordeaux team that will again include French international Louis Bielle-Biarrey who was so impressive in the Six Nations and has continued to be in great form in this competition.
Pablo Uberti will be playing in this final as Bordeaux bid to retain their European title.
Leinster return to Bilbao hoping to again win the ERCC in the Spanish city. They are the underdogs in this final and have the task of ending the reign of Bordeaux Begles as European champions. Their route to the final hasn't been as tough as that of their opponents and there is a question over their away form.
O'Brien is fit to play in the final.
The Blues named their 23-man squad for the game on Friday. There had been concerns over the fitness of winger Tommy O'Brien but he will be fit to play in the final. Despite making his return from injury last weekend James Lowe will not be playing against Bordeaux.
Their captain Caelan Doris will be at number eight for this match. Among the replacements is Paddy McCarthy who hasn't played since January.
