Learner Tien vs Brandon Nakashima Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Stuttgart Open

In the second round of the Stuttgart Open, Learner Tien and Brandon Nakashima will meet in an all-American affair. These two meet for the first time in their careers, and the winner here will face Alexander Zverev or Corentin Moutet next. Read on for our prediction.

Tien had a fortunate start to his Stuttgart debut, as his opponent Yoshihito Nishioka retired. By the time Nishioka pulled out, the match was balanced at 1-1.

It had lasted one hour and 44 minutes, with the hallmarks of a long game after two tiebreakers, and Tien will be happy it ended early. With that, he has a first win in four matches and hopes for a deep run in Stuttgart.

Meanwhile, Nakashima started his Stuttgart campaign with a win in three sets against Jacob Fearnley. The American had to rise from down after losing the opening set. It was his first win in his last four matches played to completion.

In between, Raphael Collignon had retired in their opening round match at the Hamburg Open. Nakashima then proceeded to the French Open, where he suffered a first-round exit in his last clay match. He has twice in the last 10 matches benefitted from retiring opponents, but in six of the eight completed matches, Nakashima dropped at least one set.
