Lazio host Verona in the fourth weekend of action in Serie A. Can the home team, Biancocelesti,pick up three valuable points, or will the visiting Gialloblu emerge with another excellent away victory? Lazio manager Marco Barone has seen a mixed bag from his team this season. They began with a strong 3-1 home win over Venezia before travelling to Udinese, where, despite dominating possession, they suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat.

Before the International break, Milan visited the Stadio Olimpico and in an exciting back-and-forth game, Lazio came from 1-0 down to lead 2-1 before Milan levelled matters to claim a 2-2 draw. That result leaves Lazio eighth in the early Serie A table, two points behind today’s opponents.

Hellas Verona occupy fifth spot in the table on the back of an interesting start to the season in Serie A. They began in style, defeating Napoli 3-0 with Daniel Mosquera scoring twice to stun the Neapolitans. However, the following week, they entertained Juventus at home and were on the end of a chastening 3-0 defeat to the current league leaders.

Their most recent game was away to Genoa, a tricky fixture, but one in which Verona found their form again. Two second-half strikes giving Paolo Zanetti’s team a 2-0 win to move them up to fifth in the table.

Both teams have plenty to build on in what should be an exciting match between the two.
