Stade Rochelais will play host to Leinster in the Champions Cup on Saturday. A challenging start to the season leaves Rochelais ninth in the Top 14 while Leinster top the URC standings. Rochelais, with European pedigree are out to defend the title for the third successive season. Last season’s Top 14 runners up will head into the clash full of confidence after dismantling USA Perpignan 35-6. In the Champions Cup final last season Rochelais overcame a 17-0 deficit to beat their weekend opponents Leinster. A stuttering league form has however seen Rochelais record four wins and five losses but a Champions Cup return will be welcome.

Since the opening defeat to Glasgow Warriors, Leinster have an unblemished record, winning six straight games. A last-gasp try by Ciarán Frawley stole victory from the jaws of defeat for Leinster against Connacht. Leinster will however face a bigger task as they are yet to claim victory against Rochelais in the Champions Cup. Their three previous meetings have been in the last three years, including the last two Champions Cup finals.
