Bordeaux Begles enter this match fresh from their dramatic comeback victory over 14-man arch-domestic rivals Stade Toulousain in the Champions Cup quarterfinals. Les Girondins outscored Stade Toulousain by 22 points in the second half, overturning a seven-point halftime deficit to win 30–15.
Yannick Bru's charges are also firing strong on the domestic scene. They defeated Lyon 21–17 away in their last Top 14 outing to move level on 59 points with Section Paloise and Stade Francais Paris in second and third place, respectively.
