Norway are second in Preliminary Round Group H after the first set of games in these Women's World Handball Championships. They are red hot favorites to defeat bottom-of-the-group Kazakhstan in their second fixture. Time for our match prediction below.
The Norwegians currently hold both the European and Olympic titles. A win in these championships will mean they have become world champions for the fifth time. They began their campaign with a 34-19 win over South Korea.
Norway led by five goals at the break but won the second half 20-10. Norway have now won their last nine matches and have won two trophies in recent months. Not since March have they lost a match.
Kazakhstan lost their opening group game to Angola 38-20. A poor first half saw them fall 12 goals behind the African team. There was no comeback in the second half and another tough match awaits them here.
They need to finish third to progress to the Main Round but a place in the Presidents Cup is their likely outcome. Kazakhstan finished 30th in the 2023 World Championships. Their best ever performance in these championships came in 2007 with an 18th place finish.
