Sara Bejlek was in need of a good run in Abu Dhabi after losing her previous two matches. The 20-year-old won her two qualifying matches in style with only seven games being dropped by the Czech.
Round one of the main draw saw her avenge a recent loss to Ashlyn Krueger with just three games being lost. That was followed by a straight sets victory over seventh seed Jelena Ostapenko and is now a career-high 72nd.
