Tenth seed Victoria Mboko and 14th seed Karolina Muchova will contest this year’s Qatar Open final. This encounter will mark their first career meeting, and here's our prediction of the match.

For Muchova, this will be her seventh career tour final. The Czech star’s record in tournament deciders doesn’t make for good reading, though. Muchova has won just one of the six finals she has contested and is on a four-match losing streak in such matches.

Contesting her third WTA 1000 final, Muchova has lost finals in Cincinnati, Beijing, and also at Roland Garros. Her sole win came way back in 2019 at the Korean Open.

Muchova, who has won 10 of 12 matches this term and is up to 13th in the live ranking, defeated Maria Sakkari in three sets in the semis.

Victoria Mboko is contesting her second final of the season and fourth overall. The teenage sensation has had an exciting week and arrives for this final as the favorite.

Mboko, who won her maiden tour title in Montreal last season, has defeated two top 10 players this week. Mirra Andreeva fell to the Canadian in the third round, and then Elna Rybakina was ousted in the quarter-finals.

To progress to the final, the 19-year-old, who has moved up to 10th in the live ranking, defeated last year’s Doha finalist Jelena Ostapenko in straight sets.
