Paolini has won 30 of the 53 matches she has played in 2023 and is currently ranked 35th in the live ranking. She arrives for this match after her second-round elimination in Cleveland. The winner of this first-round tie will play either Alize Cornet or Elina Avanesyan, both unseeded, next.
