Hubert Hurkacz takes on James Duckworth in the quarter finals of the Paris Masters. It's an important match for the seventh seeded Hurkacz  (ranked tenth in the world) as he chases qualification for the ATP Tour Finals. He's currently in eighth place, just behind Casper Ruud who is also in the quarter finals of this tournament. A win here will rule out the hopes of Cameron Norrie and Hurkacz is a worthy favourite to beat Duckworth. The seventh seed has won three titles this year including the Miami Masters. His most recent title was won in Metz two months ago. This week he's had wins over Tommy Paul and then had to come from a set down to defeat Dominik Koepfer.

James Duckworth began this week ranked 55th in the world but up eight places in the live rankings. The Australian has been struggling for form in recent weeks with four losses out of five before arriving in Paris. That's a big drop in form after a September that saw him win a Challenger Tour title in Istanbul and then lose in another final in Nur-Sultan. He also had success on the ATP Tour, reaching the quarter finals in Sofia. This week has seen a return to form with a three-set win over 14th seeded Roberto Bautista Agut, another one against lucky loser Lorenzo Musetti and then a straight sets victory over Alexei Popyrin.  Hurkacz is the player in form and with the incentive of making it to the Tour Finals, back him to get the win.
