Zimbabwe will look to avoid an upset against Ireland as the teams meet on matchday three of Group B in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. This match on Tuesday in Pallekele between the fourth-placed Irish and the second-placed Chevrons comes with our prediction of a Zimbabwe win.
With four points after two wins, Zimbabwe are in prime position to finish in the top two spots in the group. Ireland have two points from three games (W1, L2), and this is their last group game. They can at best go to four points and hope other results fall their way to progress.
Ireland started the tournament with consecutive defeats, losing by 20 runs to Sri Lanka and by 67 runs to Australia. They did bounce back by defeating Oman by 96 runs, but they are only barely alive in the tournament.

Zimbabwe have been the surprise package, defeating Australia by 23 runs, after they started the tournament with an eight-wicket win over Oman. The Chevrons still have a game against Sri Lanka but won’t want to leave their progression chances hanging on that result and will look to defeat the Irish here.
