Top seeded Iga Swiatek takes on the fifth seed Ons Jabeur in the US Open women' singles final. Neither have won this title and for Jabeur it would be her first ever Grand Slam championship. Swiatek has already won the French Open this year, one of six tournaments she has been victorious in. Since that win at Roland Garros, the form of the world number one has dipped slightly. This is her first time past the last eight of a tournament since that Grand Slam win in Paris. Swiatek has battled her way to her first US Open final but still her form is well below that seen earlier in the year when winning six titles in a row. The last 16 and her semi-final against Aryna Sabalenka both saw her have to come from a set down to win the match. In both those matches, Swiatek has made over 30 unforced errors in her last three matches in this tournament. That indicates we may see a long match here unless that number can be reduced.

Ons Jabeur is in her second Grand Slam final in a row. The Tunisian lost to Elena Rybakina in the Wimbledon final but has bounced back well to get through to this US Open final. Jabeur only made 15 unforced errors when beating Caroline Garcia in the semi-finals. If that kind of form can be maintained in this match, then that first ever Grand Slam title may be won this weekend. Wins have come with just one set lost and Jabeur beat Garcia with only four games dropped. There have been four previous meetings between the pair and they are level at 2-2. Jabeur has won two of the last three but the most recent match saw Swiatek beat the Tunisian in the final of this year's Rome Masters but that was on clay. Two of their four meetings have gone to a final set. Go for over 21.5 games in this match.
