Defending champion Iga Swiatek looks to continue her excellent record against Coco Gauff. Both of these players won their opening match in this round-robin group of the WTA Finals. Who'll get a second group win? Here's our match prediction.

This is the first tournament for Swiatek since the US Open. That showed as the second seed lost the first set of her opening match against Barbora Krejcikova. Swiatek fought back well though and ended up winning the match 6-2 in the third.

There have been 12 previous matches between these two players and Swiatek leads 11-1. Gauff's only win came in September 2023 and Swiatek has won the four matches played since then.

Two were on hard courts, including in the last four of this tournament in 2023. The last three of Swiatek's wins have all come in straight sets but her opponent is in good form at present. 

Coco Gauff has won two hard court titles this year, most recently being victorious in last month's China Open. The 20-year-old began her WTA Finals campaign with a straight sets win over Jessica Pegula.

Gauff has won 10 of her last 11 matches with only Aryna Sabalenka beating her. We tip Gauff to win a set in this match.
