Harlequins will be expecting to get their first win of the new English Premiership season on Saturday. After losing last week, they host Newcastle Falcons who were also beaten in their opener. Here's our match prediction.
The home side lost a thrilling match 12-11 at Sale Sharks last weekend. They trailed by a point at the break and points were shared in the second half. Last season saw them finish sixth in the English Premiership winning nine and losing the same number.
They failed to qualify for the end-of-season play-offs, missing out by five points. Qualification had looked likely but they lost three of their final four matches. At home last season, they won six league games, losing the other three.
Two of their last three home league fixtures have been won. Those wins came against Northampton and Bath who ended up as the top two sides in the main season.
There's no relegation in the English Premiership and that's the only reason the Falcons are still in the top-flight. Last season was a nightmare for them with all 18 of their league fixtures ending in defeat.
631 points were conceded in those 18 matches with 400 on the road. Just one bonus point was earned on their travels last term. This season has seen changes made but last week they were beaten 24-3 at home by Bristol.
At the break they were only a couple of points down but conceded 19 in the second half without scoring themselves. We tip Harlequins to win this match on a -18.5 points handicap.
