Great Britain - Germany: Form Analysis
Great Britain are having a tough time in their sixth appearance on the continental stage. Coached by former Spain international Anna Montanana, GB are the only team in Group D yet without a win. They began their tournament with an 85-70 defeat to Spain, and a day later, fell 75-66 to Sweden. The 20th-ranked nation in the world, Britain are averaging 68 points a game, which is the fifth-worst return so far in the competition. They are shooting 41.7% from the field and just 26% from three, which is a tally that betters that of just two other sides.
Britain have the head-to-head advantage in this fixture.
Germany began their tournament with an 89-76 victory over Sweden. It was the perfect display of tenacity as they were up against a team that had won all their previous meetings. The excitement of the win, however, was short-lived as they were outclassed on Day 2 by Spain. Spain, who are favorites to claim gold, earned a dominant 79-60 victory in Hamburg. Germany, coached by veteran tactician Lisa Thomaidis, are averaging 74.5 points a game from 45.8% shooting. The 13th-ranked nation in the world, Germany, defeated Britain in pool play at the last EuroBasket in 2023. It was their second victory in five meetings, and it remains the last time they matched up.

Great Britain & Germany Squad Analysis
Great Britain may be coming into ths games as the underdogs but they have one of the best backcourts, if not the best, in this year’s showpiece. Sam Ashby, Holly Winterburn and Catriona Henderson have carried the team’s offensive load.
They are averaging at least 10 points a game each and are the only guards doing so thus far. Forward Cheri Greene is also another to look out for here.
With experience playing in Poland, the UK, and the USA, the 191 cm/6’3’ tall Greene is an asset for GB.
Luisa Geiselsoder is averaging a team-high 18 points per game for the pre-match favorites, Germany. She has been really integral to the team’s all-around play, adding eight rebounds and four assists.
Frieda Buhner has been her running partner with 16 points per contest. Leonie Fiebisch and Emily Bessoir are also averaging double-digit points, leaving Germany with plenty to work with.
