Getafe’s place in the top half of the La Liga standings is under threat as they prepare to host another struggling side, Real Sociedad. These two are three points apart, with Getafe placed 10th and Sociedad 15th. Read on for our prediction of this match.

Getafe will have two interconnected targets for this game. They hope to arrest their recent slump and at the same time move farther away from the relegation region.

As things stand, Getafe, who are winless in the last five matches in all competitions, are just three points above the relegation region. In their last outing, they needed a late goal to force a 1-1 draw at Rayo Vallecano.

Real Sociedad are also coming off a 1-1 draw. Theirs was a welcome one, though, as they fought hard to pick a point at home to Atletico Madrid. That result stretched Sociedad’s unbeaten run to three matches in all competitions.

Their last two were in the league, and both ended in draws. While it was a good point earned, their latest result now means they haven't won a league game in the last five.

Three of those ended in defeat, but they’ve done much better on the road, losing just once in eight games. Sociedad won four of those eight outings on the road.
