Georgia vs Sweden Prediction & Betting Tips - Euro Handball

Reigning champions Sweden continue their bid to win a sixth Men's European Handball title. They take on Georgia in their second group game having beaten Bosnia and Herzegovina 29-20 in their opening game, while Georgia were beaten by the Netherlands. Four of their five previous wins came between 1994 (when this tournament was first held) and 2002. 20 years passed before they won their fifth title in 2022. Last year saw the Swedes finish fourth in the World Championships and they are one of the leading fancies to again win the European crown. Coming into these championships they had won three matches in a row by an aggregate margin of 52 goals. Their last loss was to Denmark last April in the EHF Euro Cup in which they finished second behind the Danes.

Georgia qualified for these championships as one of the best third placed teams in their qualifying group. They finished behind Hungary and Switzerland but above Lithuania. Their one win over the bottom side got them into the finals for the very first time. This is their first major finals as they have never played in a World Championship either.  Their debut was made against the Netherlands on Thursday but ended in a 34-29 defeat. They were seven goals behind at the break but despite winning the second half they were beaten and now face a much tougher task against Sweden. We tip the Swedes to win this match on a -10.5 goals handicap.
