Genoa are only three places above the relegation zone but 14 points clear so there's little chance of them heading to Serie B. Sampdoria are an inconsistent side in tenth and 14 points away from the Europa League places. It's just a case of these two sides playing out the season and hoping for a better time next time around. Genoa have shown some improved form with four points from two games but both matches were against sides below them in the table. At home they have only two points from their last five league games and have had a couple of bad results against sides in the relegation zone. Sampdoria have four wins and two draws from their last six league matches, most against sides in the bottom half but they did win 1-0 at AC Milan. Away from home they have only won twice but do have four points from their last two on the road. They can get a third away win of the season with victory at struggling Genoa.
