Exeter Chiefs are still looking for their first win in the new English Premiership season. They are one from bottom in the table after three matches and this weekend host second placed Bristol Rugby. Here's our match prediction.
The Chiefs have lost all three of their matches but it's not been an easy fixture list for them. Their season began with a disappointing 17-14 home loss to Leicester TIgers (currently third in the table).
Two away losses have since been incurred by Exeter. They lost by six points at defending champions Northampton Saints and went down 29-14 at Saracens last weekend. It's the first time in 15 seasons that their first three league fixtures have all been lost.
They need a boost and have received that with Jacques Vermeulen making his return for this game against Bristol Rugby. Franco Molina who plays international rugby for Argentina will make his debut. With other players such as Harvey Skinner and Scott Sio also back, an improved performance looks likely.
Bristol Rugby begin the weekend in second, three points behind leaders Saracens. They have won two of their three matches this season, beginning with a 24-3 win at Newcastle Falcons who are bottom of the table.
Their first home game of the season was a thriller but they lost it 44-41 to Gloucester. Bristol returned to winning ways last weekend when winning by a ten-point margin at Bath. That continued their excellent away form in the English Premiership.
Bristol Rugby had the best away league record last season with six of their nine matches being won. A win here will be their sixth in a row on the road. We tip them to win this match receiving a 4.5 points start in what should be a close game.
