Australia Women are on the verge of retaining the Ashes, but England Women are orchestrating a comeback as we head to the penultimate match of the series. The multi-format series is now set on a knife edge at six points each, with two ODIs to play. Australia needs to win just one of those games, but the momentum undoubtedly is behind the English. After winning the Test and first T20, Australia looked set to romp to another victory, but they have failed to win any of the last three matches, including the last two T20s and first ODI. In the last match, Australia saw their incredible ODI record of 42 wins in 43 dented as their 263/8 was not enough for the explosive England lineup. However, Beth Mooney did top-score with 81 runs in 99 balls, and Ellyse Perry notched up 41 in 51, but their bowling attack was rather dull, with Nat Sciver-Brunt delivering the best figures of 2/38 in eight overs. A win for England here will stack the odds firmly in their favor heading into the final match. However, Australia are the world champions and will not be pushed over easily. 

Meanwhile, after slumping to defeat in the first two matches of the series, England have come back incredibly. They did get a bit of fortune with DLS in the T20s, but their performance in the first ODI was almost perfect. Heather Knight picked up the Player of the Match award for her unbeaten 75 in 86 balls and led her side to victory by two wickets and 11 balls to spare. Ashleigh Gardener picked up 3/42 in her ten overs, while Georgia Wareham backed up well with 2/34 in her allotted overs. England have the wind beneath their sails coming into this match and could take the lead in the series for the first time with a win here. However, they will also need to win the next match to win the series; therefore, we can expect them to go all-out in this one.
