Just one point separates the six clubs in Pool 2 of the 2025-26 European Rugby Champions Cup. Edinburgh begin their penultimate fixture bottom of the pool and host Gloucester who are in fifth place. Time for our match prediction.
A top four place is needed for a club to qualify for the knockout stages. Both clubs are only behind that position but only on points difference. Edinburgh beat RC Toulon 33-20 in their opening pool game but then lost 33-0 away to Castres Olympique.
The Scottish club are only ninth in the United Rugby Championship but have won two of their three home league fixtures. They will want a home win here as their final pool game sees them travel to leaders Bath Rugby.
Gloucester only have Newcastle Red Bulls below them in PREM Rugby. Just one of their nine league games has been won, the other eight all ending in defeat. Last weekend saw them lose at Newcastle, the first league game their opponents had won this season.
So far in this pool, Gloucester have beaten Castres Olympique at home but then been beaten 31-3 away to Munster.
Their last four games in all competitions have been lost.
