Donna Vekic will be out to wrap up a splendid week in London with her first title of the season when she battles Emma Raducanu in the final. Our prediction for this first career meeting between the two is against Raducanu, who is coming off two matches on Saturday.
Vekic has ended a two-year wait for a tour final appearance with a strong run, and she will be hoping to get the job done. She’s eyeing her fifth tour title and the first since 2023.
The Croat, who was granted an opportunity to continue at Queen’s Club as a lucky loser, defeated crowd favorite Katie Boulter in the semis. She won in straight sets.
Vekic, who is a tour champion on grass, has shot up more than 30 places to 44th in the live ranking.
Raducanu is through to her first final on grass despite resting just two hours between her quarter-final and semi-final.
The Brit, who became a household name after her surprise title triumph at the US Open five years ago, will play her third tour final. She will be hoping things are much more pleasant than they were five months ago when she lost the Cluj-Napoca final.
Raducanu, who switched on to grass for the season this week, is yet to drop a set through four fixtures. To confirm her ticket for the final, she defeated sixth seed Iva Jovic.
