Diana Shnaider vs Marta Kostyuk Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Korea Open

Two seeded players meet in the Korea Open quarter-finals. Fifth seed Marta Kostyuk takes on Diana Shnaider who is seeded fourth. Time to read our match prediction.

Kostyuk is the world number 18 and has won both of her matches in this hard court tournament in straight sets. Round one saw her defeat Arantxa Rus with only four games being dropped. That took her into a second round match with qualifier Heather Watson.

It was more of the same with a straight sets win and just four games being lost. Kostyuk is in her first quarter-final since the clay court Olympics event. There has been success on this surface though with one final being reached in San Diego.

Kostyuk also made it to the last four in Indian Wells and two other quarter-finals. The latter includes the hard court Australian Open.

Diana Shnaider is a couple of places higher than her opponent in the latest rankings. It’s been a big year for the American who was just outside the top 100 in January of this year.

Three titles have been won by her this year, beginning with the hard court Thailand Open in early February.

Two other titles have been won on grass and clay since then and a hard court final in Charleston. The recent US Open saw her get to the fourth round and that was her best ever performance in a Grand Slam tournament.

Before that, Shnaider reached the last four in Toronto with wins over Magdalena Frech, Coco Gauff and Liudmila Samsonova. Her first match in this tournament saw her beat qualifier Carol Zhao in straight sets with six games being lost.  We tip her to get the victory.
