Daria Kasatkina vs Maria Sakkari Prediction & Betting Tips - WTA Adelaide

Round one of the  outdoor hard court Adelaide International sees wild card Maria Sakkari take on unseeded Australian Daria Kasatkina. The winner will face either unseeded Jaqueline Cristian or fourth seed Ekaterina Alexandrova next. Time for our match prediction.

Daria Kasatkina is 48th in the live rankings, just four places above her opponent. Like Sakkari, Kasatkina is a former top-ten ranked player but has slid down the rankings in the past year or so.

The 28-year-old played in Brisbane last week but lost in her first match. That was to Anastasia Potapova and the match went to three sets. That continued the poor form shown at the end of 2025 and Kasatkina has now lost four successive matches.

Four of her previous five matches against Sakkari have been won, Kasatkina won the only one played on this surface. Their most recent match was played on a grass court with Sakkari getting the win.

Maria Sakkari represented Greece in this month's United Cup. It was a good start to 2026 for the 30-year-old. Wins came against Naomi Osaka and Emma Raducanu before a straight sets defeat to Cori Gauff. Four of her last six matches have been won.

Sakkari is making progress back up the rankings and we tip her to beat Kasatkina.
