Medvedev is 11th in the live rankings and seventh in the ATP Race. Winning this title will move him up to third in the latter list.
Tallon Griekspoor won his only previous match against Medvedev. That was in this tournament last year with the Dutchman winning in three sets. 2026 began with Griekspoor losing his first four matches. He has bounced back well though with two quarter-finals before this run to the final.
The 28-year-old has beaten seeds in each of the last three rounds with victories over Alexander Bublik, Jakub Mensik and on Friday, Andrey Rublev. Only one set has been lost this week (to Mensik) and he’s 24th in the live rankings.
